Ballad Poem.

Everything started when South Carolina succeeded from the Union.
Lincoln was president at that time, and wanted to end the war quick.
South saw no other way to get their freedom, so they started the civil war.

Confederate and Union Soldiers faced each other in battle.
The Confederate army started out strong.
Blacks’ wanted to join and fight for their freedom.

South faced a very tough time, throughout the war.
North used the Anaconda way of killing/technique.
By the Anaconda plan, the north cut their supplies low and Confederate soldiers weak.

In the battle, many young poor souls were lost.
There was little amount of cattle’s to feed mouths.
Rattlesnakes killed many soldiers.

In the end the north won the battle.
Lincoln was assainated by the “Brad Pit” of that time.
But in the end slavery was abolished everywhere and the U.S.A stayed together, as 1.

Narrative Poem.

It was the summer time of 2006.
1st time I went to Guatemala and in a plane.
A month before I was scared.
I packed and shared emotions.

Before we left, we visited all the family to say goodbye.
We were all nervous and sad to say goodbye.
I watched the movie ‘Final Destination 1’ and I was scared of the plane.
It was a bad move to watch that.

The day had come.
We prayed before we left.
The plane was big and cold.
There was a big adventure soon to come for all of us.

We flew in the night.
There was mostly nothing at sight.
In the morning you could see the clouds, they reminded me of cotton candy.
Half an hour more and we were there.

From the bird’s point of view, we saw little houses, all bunched up.
We soon landed safely.
We went for our luggage.
Everybody spoke Spanish, no English.

My dad’s family was there, waiting for us, anxiously.
I was shy and quiet to meet all my other family from my dad’s side.
We got into a small car.
All the signs and banners were in Spanish.

Everything there was different.
It was different from how it simply smelled to the people’s way of living.
I was very tired and wanted to rest.
But we instead went to “Pollo Campero”.

We all ate the delicious chicken and got to meet up with each other.
We were all shy except for my dad and his family.
After that we had a great week in Guatemala City.
It’s a pretty beautiful place to go to and relax, and have a great time.

Anne Frank- Stage Adaptaion

In the first scene of the play, Mr. Frank returns alone to Amsterdam; he has been liberated from the concentration camp, Auschwitz. Revisiting the rooms where he last lived with his family. Miep tells him about the diary that Anne had written about her life while in hiding and he starts reading it. As he starts reading you could hear Anne’s voice reading as well. Then Anne describes how bad the situation was for the Jews in Holland after the German conquest. Her diary says the Frank’s final morning at home, as they tried to make it appear they had fled the country. Instead, they went to the building where Mr. Frank had his business to go into hiding. After they go into hiding they meet The Van Daan’s. It was Mr. Vann Daan, Mrs. Van Daan, and their son peter Van Daan. Then Mr. Frank explains the rules. During the day, when the workers are downstairs, they cannot move around, speak above a whisper, or run any water. On the 1st day of hiding Mr. Frank gives Anne the diary as a gift. After a while Mr. Kraler tells Mr. Frank to take in Mr. Dussel. His of course says yes and then they all meet him and his roommate is Anne. But after a while he gets annoyed of her and so does she. Also Peter then soon becomes friendly and closer with Anne. They “go out on dates” and just go to Peter’s room to talk. Then they do really go out. Near then end of the play a thief enters the place where they were staying at hiding and they hear a thief stealing something and then Peter falls accidentally because he was trying to turn off the lamp and that scared the thief away but he now knew that there was someone hiding in the building. After also U.S invades Germany, “The Normandy Invasion”. But that would help the families get hope and not to lose it. But then in the end something strange happens, the worker didn’t go to work and then they knew something was going on. Then the Germans go inside and capture all of them. They took them to the concentration camps. Last but least, it is again 1945 and Mr. Frank is now done reading the diary. He then talks to Miep about Anne and how she and Margot died. Finally he picks up the dairy again, and turns the pages to find a certain passage. “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart”.
